Queensland Ballet's Swan Lake
This classic story of good against evil is considered one of the greatest ballets of all time.
Young maiden Odette and her friends are victims of a terrible spell by evil sorcerer Von Rothbart that turns them into swans by day and only at night do they return to human form. To break the spell, the beautiful Odette must find eternal love.
After celebrating his birthday, Prince Siegfried comes across a lake where at midnight Odette transforms from a swan into a beautiful girl. Siegfried falls in love instantly, he invites her to attend a Ball and plans to choose her as his bride. On the night of the Ball all is not as it seems... Von Rothbart's daughter Odile arrives in disguise as Odette. Tricked and betrayed by the seductive Black Swan Odile, Siegfried must win back his one true love Odette and break the spell.
Beloved for its exquisite dancing, beautiful sets and Tchaikovsky’s glorious music, Swan Lake is the ultimate classical ballet.
