Discover Los Angeles

The ocean at Venice, Santa Monica and Malibu is crisp and refreshing, and laps at uncrowded beaches.

A glittering hive of movie stars, rock royalty, socialites and entrepreneurs, the city brims with excitement, opportunity and adventure. Located on the USA’s west coast, at the reins of California, LA is privy to an almost perfect year-round climate.

Energised by ideal temperatures and blinding sunshine, there’s no better time to visit the City of Angles than in the lead up to summer. Spring is the perfect season to explore LA’s world-renowned attractions.

The view from atop Mulholland Drive and The Griffith Observatory is almost unimpeded by smog in the spring. The ocean at Venice, Santa Monica and Malibu is crisp and refreshing, and laps at uncrowded beaches.

The air is fresh, but warm enough to cruise along Hollywood Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard in a convertible with the top down. School is still in, so the lines at Anaheim’s Disneyland are shorter than in the summer break. While the Lakers and Clippers make their final bids to cement their almost-certain spots in the NBA playoffs.

To explore the action of this bustling metropolis it’s important to set up a good base. In the foothills of Bel Air, W Los Angeles Westwood is ideally located between Rodeo Drive and Santa Monica and is in easy reach of all major motion picture studios and the Getty Center. Not far away, in Beverly Hills, the Beverly Wilshire is the city’s most iconic five-star hotel  made famous by Pretty Women.

One of the hippest names in the US hotel business, The Standard has two ideally-situated LA properties, one Downtown and one in West Hollywood. While the Viceroy Hotel exudes “salt-air-kissed sophistication”, looking out over Pacific Ocean and Santa Monica Beach.
